Authorities say they arrested a pair of women on drug charges and seized drugs and cash while serving a search warrant on Sunday morning.
According to a news release, Seguin police officers searched a home about 10 a.m. in the 600 block of Maldonado Avenue and, with the assistance of K-9 Cooper, discovered illegal narcotics in the house.
“During the search, officers located and seized more than 64 grams of heroin, more than 14 grams of methamphetamine, 7 ounces of marijuana and more than $1,600 in U.S. currency,” Seguin police spokesperson Tanya Brown said in the statement.
Officers detained Samantha Salazar, 28, and Erica Medrano, 34, and booked into Guadalupe County Jail, Brown said.
Salazar is facing charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon, possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds in a drug-free zone, and three counts of manufacturing/delivery controlled substance penalty group 1 between 4-200 grams.
Medrano was arrested on an outstanding warrant of possession of a dangerous drug.
