Authorities say an anonymous tip led deputies to find several stolen vehicles in Marion, and now they are seeking the man accused of stealing them on Monday.

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Zachary McBride said deputies received a tip through Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers about a stolen RV and car that were parked at a house in the 1100 block of Valeria Drive.

“After investigators confirmed the initial tip of the vehicles’ presence at the property, a search warrant was obtained,” McBride said.

During the search, deputies determined the car was a 2019 Chevrolet Impala that was reported stolen from Enterprise Rentals in Schertz and a 2001 Ford E-450 Majesty Motorhome that was reported stolen from a storage facility in western Bexar County, McBride said.

A 2004 GMC Yukon, that was reportedly stolen from Lytle, was also discovered down the street from the home.

While investigators haven’t linked the truck to the other two vehicles, they do believe there is a connection, McBride said.

Further investigation has the officers looking for 29-year-old Edward Ray Goodman, who was reportedly living in the motorhome, McBride said.

“The residents at (the home) told Investigators that they allowed Goodman to live in the RV at that address because they believed they were helping him get back on his feet,” McBride said. “They did not know that the RV and Impala were stolen. Goodman was not on scene when the stolen vehicles were recovered, so he couldn’t be interviewed about being in possession of stolen property. ”

Goodman has outstanding warrants in both Guadalupe and Comal counties.

He is described as a white male, 6-foot 1-inch tall, brown hair, blue eyes and weighs about 150 pounds, McBride said.

McBride credits the recovery of the stolen vehicles to the information left by an anonymous tipster.

“The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office would like to highlight this successful anonymous Guadalupe County Crime Stopper’s tip,” he said. “It is cases like these that best demonstrate that the Crime Stoppers program is an asset that does assist law enforcement in carrying out our functions.”

Anyone with information about the location of Goodman is asked to contact the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office and talk with Investigator Ryan MyCue at 830-379-1224 or email ryan.mycue@co.guadalupe.tx.us .

Anonymous tips can be left through Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 877-403- TIPS (8477), online at www.gccsTIPS.org or Text “Guadalupe plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES).

Information left through Crime Stoppers that results in an arrest could earn a cash reward.
