William (Bill) L. and Vicki George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in a private celebration with family and friends. The former Vicki Rutherford and her husband were married on Jan. 8, 1965 in Waco, Texas, where they were attending Baylor University. Bill was from Graham, Texas and Vicki was from Austin, Texas. They lived and worked in Austin until 1977. They moved to Seguin, Texas when Bill was transferred to San Antonio. In Seguin they served as 4-H leaders and raised dairy and meat goats and poultry. They retired from ranching in 1987 and moved to Pipe Creek, Texas, where they attend Hill Country Chapel. They are the parents and in-laws of Lloyd and Barbie George of Elgin, Texas and John and Stephanie Scott of Bastrop, Texas. The couple have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bill retired from AT&T, with 30 years service, in 1996 and continued to work part-time in telecommunications until this year. Vicki has been involved in church and charity work and currently writes for a Bandera County newspaper.

Roland and Nora (Wheeler) Naumann were married August 14, 1954, at First Baptist Church in Seguin, Texas. They spent their honeymoon in New Orleans and are planning a trip there in the future.
On July 19, 2014, Ernesto and Susie Perez celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at the Silver Center in Seguin with friends and relatives traveling from four states. Mariachis serenaded the invitees while dining. Adriana Perez, Ernesto’s granddaughter, read letters of congratulations from former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Famed radio personality Rosita Ornelas was the master of ceremonies and gave a history of the couple, both lifelong residents of Seguin.
Fred and Glendora Ewald of Seguin, Texas, were married on April 24, 1949 at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church in Seguin.

Arthur and Maxine Trost celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, along with family and friends, at the sweetheart banquet at Kingsbury Methodist Church on February 15, 2014. They were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Goliad, Texas, on February 20, 1944.
On Sunday, October 13, 1963, Gloria (Alves) daughter of the late Lee and Irene Alves of Seguin, Texas and Steve Jones of Everett, Washington were united in marriage at Cross Church in Seguin by the late Rev. Clifton Freudenberg.

Arthur (Art) and Joy will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on Feb. 7, 2013. The former Joy L. Frabotta, married Arthur B. Trepagnier Jr. on Feb. 7, 1948 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. They met while working in Washington D.C. in 1947 – Art was a U.S. Marine and Joy was working for the U.S. Marine Corp. law offices. Art and Joy spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. After retiring, he worked for the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Dept. for 24 years and the After School Challenge program for 10. They are now fully retired and living life to it’s fullest.
On a wet, icy afternoon on Jan. 4, 1943, Patsy Estes and Arthur Creager were married at Riverside Baptist Church in San Antonio. The bride wore a beautiful gown hand-sewn by her mother. That evening the couple made the eight-mile journey to downtown San Antonio for their honeymoon at the St. Anthony Hotel. Because of WWII, gas rationing was in effect and friends of the couple gave them their ration cards to help them out.

They are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 with a luncheon at El Ranchito Restaurant hosted by Gary and Melissa Zeinert along with their children Garrison and Zane of Garwood, Texas, and Elvin and Maureen Stinson of Pleasanton, Texas.

Wilbert and Betty Bloch were married Dec. 27, 1960, in Seguin. They have three children, Buddy Bloch and his wife Lesa, Tracey Schuehle and husband Jeff, and Wesley Bloch and his wife Lisa. They also have four grandchildren; Zachary, Tanner, Chloe and Lily. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking an Alaskan cruise in May of last year.
Elsie Mae Hansmann Jefferies and Ronald Jefferies Sr. of Bastrop, Texas, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 14, 2011. They were married Jan. 14, 1961, at Evangelist Lutheran Church in Kingsbury. Before retirement, Ronald was an LCRA Electrical Production Supervisor, and Elsie was a homemaker.

Dr. and Mrs. Juan Garcia-Perez celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18, 2010. The couple renewed their vows at a mass officiated by Father David Tonnary of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin. The celebration continued with a reception and dance at the Silver Center hosted by their five daughters and their spouses: Mary Lou and Paul Castillo (Seguin); Patty and Edgar Saucedo (Austin); Nena and George Gomez (San Antonio); Martha and Eulelio Villalon (San Antonio); and Adriana and Alfred Trevino (San Antonio). Among the 250 guests in attendance were many family members from Mexico.
Walt and Gladys Fruehling are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010. The couple wed in 1945 at Martin Luther Church in Auburn, Neb. Walt’s father, the Rev. William Fruehling, performed the ceremony and his brother, the Rev. Richard Fruehling, was the best man. Walt had just been ordained earlier that year, so this year he has been a pastor for 65 years.
