Suzanne Burris left this earth on May 28, 2019 to meet her daughter Pam and her friends waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. She will be missed by many.
Suzanne was born in Cotulla, Texas to Nan and Barney Johnson. Her parents preceded her in death as did her older brother, LaRocque.
When she was young, they moved to Alice, Texas where she attended school. An accomplished student, she graduated from high school with honors and went on to attend Texas A&I University.
While attending college, she met Jimmie Burris, married after graduation and celebrated 58 years together in November 2018. Their life together was exciting due to his occupation and they lived in many states and Europe.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter Kim Vasquez and husband Mike; grandchildren Matt Vasquez and Haley Vasquez; sister-in-law, Jeanene Smith; nephew, Kirk Smith; and niece, Kellye Fergeson; plus many, many friends.
Her love of animals was remarkable and her beloved Ace and Rosie were her “heart” dogs. The interest she possessed for hummingbirds was outstanding.
“God wanted her now and He set her free.”
