Sherline Edna Marquardt Bogisch passed away on July 4, 2019 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born on September 6, 1933 to Arnold and Tillie Marquardt in Lexington, Texas.
Sherline is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Harold, and their five children, Laurie Bogisch Perryman, Tim and wife Jo Ann Bogisch, Tammy Bogisch, Steve Bogisch and Karen Bogisch, and grandchildren T. J. Perryman and wife Jenna, Angela Perryman, Tiffany and husband Alex Mireault, Ashley and husband Thomas (TJ) Goins, and Brandon Bogisch.
She was a 1951 graduate of D’Hanis High School where she placed first in her class, and attended San Antonio College for one year. She worked for five years as an office manager for an insurance company in San Antonio until leaving to start a family. She married Harold on August 25, 1956 in La Vernia, Texas.
She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she helped lead the Women’s Quilting Group for many years. The Quilting Group averaged making over 500 quilts each year that were sent to Lutheran World Relief and distributed to those in need throughout the world. She was also active in the Women of Faith, serving in several different offices, and she assisted in the church office and helped at Vacation Bible School for many years.
The most important part of her life was being a wife and mother, raising five children, loving her grandchildren, and having a career as a housewife for over 60 years. After their children left home, Harold and Sherline enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, including visiting each of the 254 county courthouses in Texas and 45 of the state capitols and making two trips to Alaska.
Sherline was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law Edward and Pat Marquardt, and her son-in-law Mike Perryman.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Craver officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Faith Lutheran Life Enrichment Center.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sherline’s grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Faith Lutheran Church Women’s Quilting Group.
