Ruby Bartels Dietert

Ruby Bartels Dietert was born March 11, 1926, in Guadalupe County to Daniel Bartels and Alma Boenig Bartels Stautzenberger and passed away at the age of 93 on June 27, 2019.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Milton L. Dietert, daughter-in-law Jeanette Haecker Dietert, her parents, and stepfather Oscar Stautzenberger.

Survivors include her son, Daniel L. Dietert and friend Dawn Jacobi, daughter Darlene McKee and husband Jeffrey, grandchildren Kimberly Porter and husband Mark, Kelly Pacheco and husband Robert, Scott Dietert, Amy Zimmerman and husband Chad, Alecia McCain and husband Zac, and Allison McKee. Great grandchildren Layne Porter and wife Krista, Koby Pacheco, Ava Pacheco, Landry Porter, Luke Zimmerman, Case McCain, and Ellie Zimmerman and one great, great grandchild Baby Boy Porter who will be arriving soon.

“Oma”, as she was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed crocheting afghan blankets (especially baby blankets) for family and friends. She was a long-time member of Cross Church and for a number of years, assisted the church staff in mailing the monthly newsletter.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Staff of Guadalupe Regional Hospice, Pastor Jim Price, and caregiver Sheryl Brietzke.

They would like to thank Patsy Erxleben, for a friendship that started years ago when both women sat on the stage during many dance jobs while their husbands played music together in the Milton Dietert Band and for that continued friendship sitting side-by-side for meals during the last couple of months.

Thank you also to Bobby and Joan Henze for their support and assistance during the last several years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Cross Church with Pastor Jim Price Officiating. Internment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Dietert, Mark Porter, Robert Pacheco, Layne Porter, Koby Pacheco, Chad Zimmerman, and Zac McCain. Honorary Pallbearers are Erwin Braune, Jim Dietert, Gerhold Braune, Jr., and Bobby Henze.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services at 1215 E. Court, Seguin TX 78155, Cross Church at 814 N Bauer, Seguin TX 78155, or to a charity of your choice.
