Gertrude Coker

Gertrude (Trudy) Coker of Seguin, Texas went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 28, 2017.

She passed of natural causes in the presence of her immediate family at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana. Trudy was born October 5, 1920 to Arthur and Sally (Moore) McCall in McNeil, Texas.

She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She moved to Seguin, Texas with her family at a young age. She met the love of her life, Clinton Coker and they were married July 24, 1940. They had two daughters Sally and Dixie. In 1980 she wrote a book, “My Daughter Told Me About The Rapture”. She then had many speaking engagements both in Texas and Alaska talking and counseling about her book.

She was very active in the church community. She loved drawing and painting on glass and fabrics. She also loved sewing and cooking. She is survived by daughters Sally Olson and Dixie Nugent (Mike), 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton just three months shy of their 70th anniversary, her 4 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 great grandson.

The service will be Thursday, February 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, 165 Tor Drive, Seguin, Texas with Pastor Layne Dietz officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 Hwy. 46, New Braunfels, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Marvel Maddox, Buddy Roy, Michael McCall, Woodie Ellis, Snuffy Etheridge, and Mark Maddox. Honorary pallbearer will be Leroy Michelli. Refreshments will follow at New Life Fellowship, 16489 S. State Hwy. 123, Seguin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation to: Peace Hospice of Montana, 1101 26th.
