Rena Anna Reimann Dreyer, 99, of Marion, died Friday, May 17, 2019 in Seguin. She was born on April 5, 1920 to Olga (Baumann) and Ben Reimann.
Rena was a homemaker and will be remembered for her love of being outdoors. In the early years of her marriage, she was Helmuth’s partner in milking the cows, building fences and driving the tractor.
A vegetable garden and a small flock of laying hens has always been a staple in her life. She enjoyed reading, sharing eggs and especially baking sweets. She is famous for her fruit cobblers, brownies and chiffon cakes, which she had taken to family gatherings, gatherings of friends or given as gifts for special occasions.
She is survived by her daughters; Leoma Steffen (Calvin), of Marion and Marsha Dove (Michael) of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Melanie Krause (Pete), Carl Stefen (Yvette), Paula Moeller (Will), Judith Bek (Brennan), Bryce Parrock, Katheryne Pressley (Justin), Michale Dove (Britlyn) and Garrett Dove; 16 great- grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; brother, Wallace Reimann (Evaleen) of Kendlia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Helmuth Dreyer; parents; brothers; Herbert, Willie and Gus Reimann; sister, Lucille Boecker and grandson, Brandon Parrock.
A gathering of Rena’s family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Goetz Memorial Chapel 713 N. Austin St. in Seguin. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 23, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 S. Center St. Marion, Tx. 78124. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Marion.
