Western Diamondback Rattlesnake

Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is coiled, ready to strike.

A 17-year-old man’s brush with venomous fangs brought the Marion community together to lend a family a hand.

Marion resident Liz Burkhardt was suddenly awoken around midnight July 11 to the screams of her daughter Audrey Burkhardt and her daughter’s boyfriend, 17-year-old Kyle Ferguson. Liz quickly learned that two diamondback rattlesnakes had just bitten Ferguson in her backyard.
