Annexation opponents continue to speak out

SEGUIN — The City Council heard more opposition to the proposed annexation of four areas west and south of the city Tuesday during the second public hearings on the targeted areas.

“You can’t just reach out and attach a piece of property if you’re not 1,000 feet wide,” said local attorney Donald L. “DL” Schraub Jr. who represents Pepper Moon Ltd., owner of a parcel of property in the proposed Area 2 annexation.

Alice, you need to educate yourself about CCN's for water and electric service.

If I read the City Charter correctly, after an area is annexed into the city, the city has 5 years to supply city utilities and service. Instead of annexing more in, why don't you go back 20 or 30 years and get all the streets you have annexed and not given service, for instance Wetz across from Briesimeister middle school. How many more people live in the city and use coops for water, electricity or trash services?

Your wasting your time talking to the city about not annexing your area as soon as you start talking they stop listening. They may listen to you but there not hearing you so if u want the best deal for yourself and your neighbors get together and get a lawyer because they will try to make you pay for fees and costs that the city should pay for.
