SEGUIN —The smiling face of a girl she never knew haunts Detective Maureen Watson before her head hits the pillow at night and when she gets up in the morning.

Since December 2002, the charred body of Mikiko Kasahara laying amid the remains of her gutted apartment and the mystery of who may have killed the 21-year-old Texas Lutheran University student has driven Watson to find her killer.
