With Monday’s opening of the regular dove season in Texas’s South Zone, officials have a few reminders for those headed out to bag the migratory birds.

Taking proper precautions and staying on the right side of the law are important for everyone, including hunters, said Emily Slubar, a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department stationed in Guadalupe County.
