CIBOLO - Cibolo police have detained the suspect in a threat regarding a gunman at Steele High School.

Denis Fournier's mother called police and indicated that she had her sons with her. The 16-year-old voluntarily came to the Cibolo Police Department and turned himself in without incident.

Police report that Fournier said the statements were only a joke and were taken out of context. He was transported to Guadalupe County Juvenile Detntion Center and will face charges for making a false alarm or report.

Cibolo Police Chief Gary Cox said “Although Fournier’s comments may have been said in jest, the situation is nothing to joke about. The incident created unrest and fear throughout our community. Unfortunately poor judgment in this case has significant consequences”.

I commend his mom, but I agree in light of the recent tragedy, it must be taken seriously. Thank you Cibolo PD.
