So what was all the buzz about at the Guadalupe County Master Gardeners March monthly meeting? Gretchens Bee Ranch located at 2745 W. Kingsbury Street, Seguin, TX informed the Master Gardeners that bees are dying off, and owners Mark and Thien Gretchen spoke about the hardships of trying to keep their bees buzzing.

Why should we care about bees dying off? Many people think of bees simply as a summertime nuisance. To put it in simple terms, do you like apples, oranges, lemons, limes, broccoli, onions, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, cucumbers, cantaloupes, carrots, avocados, or almonds? The truth is that the small, but hard working insects make it possible for our favorite foods to actually be available for our own tables and for our favorite restaurants.
