In the nearly two decades I’ve been putting pen to paper writing this weekly column, I have received more than a few emails, phone calls, and notes of appreciation from devoted readers whom I greatly appreciate. But none more than a sweet lady from Seguin named Edith Chick who really seems to enjoy each week’s reflections.

So earlier this past week, I received a note from her asking me to share a story I had written a couple of years ago about a bitter and blind Santa Claus who ultimately finds a different vision. It is certainly one of my favorites and one which I believe assuredly captures the true spirit of the Christmas season. See if you don’t agree.
