Last Thursday, Variety released an article covering how John Stossel, a long-time journalist and Libertarian pundit, was suing Facebook for defaming him by appending fact-checking two videos he posted on the social media site over the topic of climate change.

On both videos, Facebook and its fact-checking partners put warning labels describing the videos as “misleading” and “inaccurate” despite that Stossel had interviews from climate change experts. He is currently demanding $2 million worth of damages from Facebook.

Nolan Schmidt is an independent filmmaker, and serves as Vice Chair for the Guadalupe County Libertarian Party.
