Many county residents are anxiously anticipating the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccines. While the county has seen about 4,800 residents vaccinated, it is only a drop in the bucket.

Guadalupe County Emergency Management Coordinator Patrick Pinder said there are about 5,200 people in Guadalupe County that are in the 1A category — first responders, healthcare workers and residents in long term healthcare facilities.
