When I’m off work and want to decompress, I like heading to a movie theater and catching the latest hit or sometimes miss.

Typically, if I took vacation out of town and the day I came back or after and I was still off, I found myself in the middle of the day in front of a big screen with a bucket of popcorn. Usually by myself. Not because I couldn’t find anyone to go with, but because it is just something I like to do.

Now that my sister and her kids are here, I am watching those movies with them, and boy are we all looking forward to some of the upcoming movies set to come to theaters soon.

We already scratched “Dumbo” off the must see list, as we watched the little elephant take off on Friday.

My sister, eldest nephew and I, will probably make time for the “Pet Sematary” remake. My sister and I watched the original and sequel when we were kids. It may have taken me a couple of days to fall asleep after those.

Then there is “Avengers: Endgame.” The kids have seen all of the Marvel movies leading up to this one, plus own a majority of them. So, to say they are excited is a bit of an understatement.

I’m ashamed to say, I’m pretty behind in the Marvel realm. Hoping I can catch up before then. I’ve got a month, that’s enough time. Right?

I’m 100 percent not ashamed to say I’m a fan of the Disney movies and have already planned movie dates for the upcoming remakes this year.

Which brings me to the next movie, Disney’s “Aladdin.” Just seeing the trailer made my sister and I so excited, we may have started singing out loud in the theater, much to my niece and nephews’ dismay.

“Rockman” the biopic of Elton John looks like it will be a great one, and hoping I can wrangle my mom in to going with me. Don’t think that will be to much of a struggle.

“Toy Story 4” looks to bring back a lot of the characters we fell in love with in the first movie, plus some new ones. While I would like to see this one in the theatres, it’s one I wouldn’t mind waiting until released on DVD or through online streaming service.

In July, comes a movie many of us have been waiting 25 years for, Disney’s “The Lion King.”

The original came out in 1994, I was in junior high school and I’m pretty sure I watched that movie a dozen times in the Palace Theatre, when it was still operated as a movie house.

It is to this day one of my favorites and I can still recite the movie word for word. The CG on the movie looks incredible and through the trailer it looks like it will follow the story line through and through. The casting seems pretty solid, and the return of James Earl Jones as Mufsa, is spot on.

“Hobbs and Shaw” a spin off of the “Fast&Furious” franchise is coming out at the end of the summer and should bring some action-pack adventure with it.

I’m sure there are a lot of other cinema flicks I’m missing, but those aren’t on my list right now.
