It feels almost too familiar that the noticeable turn of seasons in our weather is conjoined with the first week of the new athletic season.

With a massive fluctuation in temperature last week — much to my allergies’ disdain — I was intrigued when digging through my closet in search of clothes better suited for the season. It doesn’t get cold in the Bahamas, so last year I really had no reason to buy, own or wear warm clothes. While pushing my jean shorts and bathing suits out of the way, I ran into some old winter gear from my time working for Texas Tech Athletics and, instantly, I was flooded with memories of my time working in basketball.
