Dear Seguin,

The results of the May 4 Seguin ISD bond election are indicative of the community’s support of our public schools.

Those who took the time to vote have entrusted me, our school board, and staff with a tremendous opportunity and responsibility. I can assure you that we are up to the task.

Bond 2019 will address priorities in the first phase of a long range facilities plan created over the course of a year by the stakeholder-lead Facilities Committee. I am committed to ensure that this phase is completed effectively and efficiently.

I look forward to working with the members of the Bond Oversight Committee as we begin the process to see these projects through. I ask for our community’s patience as the bond projects are scheduled and ultimately completed.

Most importantly, I thank the 1,569 voters for doing the right thing for the current and future students of Seguin ISD.

It’s a great day to be a Matador!

Matthew Gutierrez, Seguin ISD Superintendent
