Intersection needs work

The corner of Kingsbury and Austin is one of the busiest intersections and also one of the most forgotten intersections.

This intersection has carried many important people — city workers, police officials, government officials and is a direct route to the Caterpillar plant, home to hundreds of jobs.

Many people that use this route have to deal with traffic buildup and confusion with no lane markings.

A right turn only lane would help reduce, and improve the flow of traffic.

If they can have a park for dogs in Seguin, I’m sure they can take care of the forgotten intersection.

Hopefully this letter to the editor will reach the right people.

Joe (Chema) Gonzalez,

the citizens who raise the funds for the creation of the Dog Park, and who maintain it, will probably be unwilling to take on the maintenance of state highways, as Mr. Gonzales has suggestd. He seems unable to accept that no public finds have been involved in the creation of a well used and attractive addition to Seguin's park systems.

This intersection needs a total overhaul!! But it needs it as an included part of overall downtown traffic flow. At Kingsbury, Austin should be one way south bound until Austin goes back to 5 lanes south of downtown. The northbound one way should be one block to the east following the same designations. Austin should be widened north of Kingsbury to handle 2 southbound lanes, one dedicated right turn and a dedicated left turn lanes.
