Area volleyball teams record district victories

SEGUIN — The Lady Matadors (22-14, 4-3) took care of business quickly on Friday, sweeping Lockhart 25-6, 25-10, 25-12 in a District 27-4A match at home.

The win kept Seguin in the fourth spot in the district standings. Clemens (14-12, 3-4) is a full game behind.

Erin Moore led the attack against the Lady Lions by supplying 11 kills. Sydney Riordan and Maurisa Garcia added seven kills apiece, while Darian Bugai tallied 27 assists.

Defensively, Corley Ann Parker totaled nine digs, with Moore posting a pair of blocks. The Lady Mats recorded 23 aces in the victory, nine of which came from Nikki Skala. Shelby Radick added seven aces.

Seguin will host Buda Hays tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Lady Panthers prevail in 3

GERONIMO — The Navarro volleyball club (20-12, 1-2) broke through for its first District 27-3A win of the season Friday in a 25-15, 25-13, 25-19 sweep of Bandera.

Calli Allison came up with 12 kills in the match, while Emma Johnson finished with 24 assists. Summer Sahd and Shannon Thompson each delivered 12 digs, while Allison added five aces and two blocks.

The Lady Panthers will hit the road to face Wimberley tonight at 7 p.m.

Marion breezes by Brooks

MARION — The Lady Bulldogs (19-8, 7-0) continued their romp through District 29-2A Friday with a 25-7, 25-9, 25-14 triumph over San Antonio Brooks at home.

Amy Stoermer and Meagan Littefield collected eight and five kills in the victory, respectively, while Cami Davis dished out 16 assists. Davis added 12 aces and two digs, with Littlefield posting one block.

Marion will make the short trip to Universal City tonight to battle Randolph at 7 p.m.

Lady Falcons soar past Eagles

SEGUIN — Lifegate (12-3, 3-1) outlasted San Antonio Town East last Thursday, winning 23-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 in a district contest in Seguin.

Katelin Psencik led the way with 13 kills, while Rachel Cramblitt finished with 28 assists. Samantha Swisher and Lyndsay Weaver recorded 22 and 19 digs, respectively. Cramblitt and Psencik each served up four aces, while Chelsea Fowler contributed six blocks.

The Lady Falcons will travel to Stockdale tonight for a non-district tilt at 6 p.m.
