Two of Seguin’s Internationals All-Star teams advanced through the brackets and won District 31 championships this week.

The 11-year-old boys baseball team, and the Seniors team both won championships going undefeated in tournament play.

The 11 year olds won four straight, beating La Vernia,15-4, New Braunfels, 8-7, and then knocking off Canyon Lake in two successive games by identical 9-3 scores.

They advance to sectionals with the teams, times and dates to be determined.

The Seniors won three straight, lashing Stockdale, 24-3, and New Braunfels, 17-2, before beating New Braunfels again 9-0 to win the District 31 title.

They will play in the Southwest Regional tournament with teams from Oklahoma, colorado, New Mexico Mississippi and Texas at Smokey Joe Field in Seguin starting on July 17.

Two of the teams advanced to the championship games in their brackets, but fell a game short of the District 31 crown.

The 8-10 year olds baseball lost their first game of the tournament, but won three straight before falling in the championship game.

The boys lost to Floresville, 14-10, but then beat Canyon Lake, 19-7, Floresville, 14-7 in the rematch, and La Vernia, 20-4, but lost to New Braunfels, 8-3, in the championship game.

Also advancing to the championship were the Juniors baseball team, which beat NB White, 11-10, and La Vernia, 8-4, before dropping successive games to NB White again, 12-6, and 8-6, to come up one game short of the title.

The 8-10 softball team lost the first game to New Braunfels, 25-7, before getting back-to-back wins over Cuero, 11-9, and Lockhart 16-9. A one run loss to Yoakum (12-11) ended the tournament for the girls.

The Major League softball team was eliminated after a tight loss to Lockhart, 20-18, and a 16-1 loss to Shiner.

The Major League baseball team lost a pitcher’s duel in game one, 2-1 to Floresville, beat La Vernia, 11-5, and lost to New Braunfels Red, 15-3, to get knocked out of the tourney.
