GERONIMO — Winds blew hard and the momentum shifted back and forth Friday night but in the end before the Navarro Panthers (6-2, 4-0) held tight to down the Wimberley Texans (6-2, 1-1) for a huge 24-22 victory.

With the win, the Panthers sewed up their second consecutive district championship, clinched the district’s top seed in the playoffs, and got some measure of payback against their rivals for eliminating them from the playoffs last season.
