Jack La Von Hurley

Jack La Von Hurley passed way on Nov. 28, 2009 at the age of 77. He was born in Rio Hondo, Texas on June 13, 1932.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jonah Robert Hurley and Mary Adeline (Easterling) Hurley, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by a brother, Billy Joe Hurley; three sisters: Nelta Jean Brooks and husband Aaron, Gladys Lee Row and husband Jonnie, Sharon Ann Elley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at San Geronimo Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1 with the Rev. Jim Price officiating.

Jack Hurley was known to be a business man who loved ranching, fishing and hunting. He worked at Seguin Aviation as an air traffic controller for 20 years, Parks Machine and Grinding for 15 years as an accountant and part-owner, and he worked at Alamo Electric in Schertz. Jack was like a father to all of us.
