James Charles Boyer
James Charles Boyer, born July 29, 1945, passed away Dec. 2, 2009, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Louise Boyer and his parents, John and Hilda Boyer. He is survived by: wife, Amy Lu; children, Veronica Boyer Hernandez and husband David, Jeff and wife April, Jason, step-daughter Julia Benton, one grandchild, Caitlin Hernandez and his beloved dog/favorite son, Wedo.
Born and raised in Michigan, Jim and his family moved to Texas in 1979. He was a Vietnam vet and spent the majority of his life at Port Isabel, Texas, fishing on the Gulf of Mexico. He was co-owner of South Texas Photography with his late wife and was employed at Fort Sam Houston for 23 years. He coached his son’s soccer and baseball teams as well as playing soccer himself. He enjoyed bowling and taking cruises to Mexico, Grand Cayman and Jamaica.
Jim was fun-loving and full of life. He will be missed by all who know and love him. He was a wonderful man and an awesome father. We love you, Daddy.
