Patricia “Patsy” Ann Moore Brannan
Patricia “Patsy” Ann Moore Brannan, 88 of Crystal City, passed away on Nov. 13, 2009, in Seguin, Texas. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Myrtle Ulbrich Moore. Patsy is survived by her brother, Michael “Mike” Moore of Crystal City, Texas; her daughter, Patricia “Patti” Brannan Hooks of Beaumont, Texas, and son, John T. “Tommy” Brannan III and wife, Susan of Seguin, Texas; grandchildren, Tahara Ann Hooks Cater and husband, C. Wallace “Wally” of Houston, Texas, Brandy Hooks Richardson of Annapolis, Md., John T. Brannan IV and wife, Anne of Baton Rouge, La. and Robert H. Brannan and wife, Jeannie of Pleasanton, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Catherine-Ann “Cassie” Cater of Houston, Texas, Morgan Riley Richardson of Annapolis, Md. and Taylor Ann Brannan of Pleasanton, Texas.
Patsy was born June 26, 1921, on the Byrd Ranch near Crystal City, Texas and at the age of five moved to Crystal City, where she lived most of her life. She attended grade schools in Crystal City and college at The University of Texas and Trinity University. Patsy obtained her masters degree in Education at Southwest Texas in San Marcos. She taught in the classroom for over 40 years in Crystal City, Texas, Maricabo, Venezuela and Carrizo Springs, Texas. Patsy was a devoted teacher, touching the lives of so many of her students. She was a dear friend to all she knew, loved her Athena Study Club and her sunflowers. Patsy enjoyed traveling and experienced most of the globe on her journeys.
Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that Patsy had a strong sense of her faith and is now at peace in Heaven with Our Lord. She was a life-long member of The First United Methodist Church of Crystal City.
A graveside memorial service at Edgewood Cemetery in Crystal City will be held on Friday, Nov. 27, at 11 in the morning. The family warmly welcomes all Patsy’s friends to join in our celebration of Pasty’s life here on Earth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Methodist Church of Crystal City (616 E. Val Verde Street, Crystal City, Texas 78839) or charity of your choice.
