800 block, Campbell Street
SEGUIN — A plasma television and other property was reported missing in a burglary discovered early Sunday.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, a resident of the 800 block of Campbell left home at 4 p.m. Saturday — leaving the residence locked up.
Upon return at 2 a.m., the resident discovered someone had used a knife to pry open the front door of the home.
Taken was a 42-inch television, a DVD player and 10 DVDs, three pairs of tennis shoes and 15 pairs of children’s blue jeans, police reported.
In all, the missing items were worth about $850, according to the police report.
600 block, Patton Street
SEGUIN — A 19-year-old Seguin man who refused to cooperate with a police officer at the scene of a fight ended up being arrested on a pair of misdemeanor charges.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, Dustin Hughes was involved in a fight in the 600 block of Patton Street at a little after 11 a.m. Saturday.
An officer attempted to detain him, and reported Hughes kept moving away as he tried to handcuff him.
As he did, the officer saw a plastic bag protruding from one of Hughes’s pockets, the report said.
Hughes was booked for the suspected possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and for allegedly resisting arrest or detention, police report.
1000 block, Country Club Drive
SEGUIN — Police are looking for someone who wanted a $25 dog kennel so much they cut a convertible top to get it.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, a resident of the 1000 block of Country Club Drive reported going to a 2000 Ford Mustang at 7:30 a.m. Saturday to find its convertible top cut, and the dog kennel, which had been inside the vehicle, missing.
Damage to the top was estimated at $500, police said.
Investigation into the incident is continuing.
900 block, South State Highway 123 Bypass
SEGUIN — Two men were arrested on drug allegations after a traffic stop Friday afternoon.
Johnny Pinales, 34, and Jonathan Flores, 17, both of Seguin, were booked for the alleged possession of less than 1 gram of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, in the wake of the traffic stop, which occurred at 3:40 p.m.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, Pinales was driving a 1989 Toyota Camry when he was pulled over for an expired registration sticker.
As the officer approached the vehicle, Flores could be seen stuffing a plastic bag between the front seats of the vehicle.
Investigation revealed a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana and three bags containing a small amount of a substance believed to be cocaine were between the seats of the vehicle, police reported.
When Flores was taken into custody, another bag containing cocaine was found, police report.
