Cibolo man facing murder charge

Published June 19, 2009

CIBOLO — A 42-year-old Cibolo man has been arrested on a murder charge for allegedly slashing his wife to death late Wednesday afternoon.

Glenn A. Dulay was taken into custody by Cibolo police Wednesday night and charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife, Ma Nova T. Dulay, 34.

A source familiar with the investigation said the woman had suffered a major slashing wound to her throat, and was dead at the scene in a recently built home in a new subdivision located just across FM 1103 from Byron Steele High School.

Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Roy Richard Jr. pronounced Ma Nova T. Dulay dead at about 6 p.m. Thursday and ordered an autopsy. The body was taken to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Glenn Dulay was booked into Guadalupe County Jail at 1:34 a.m. Thursday, and later Thursday morning, Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Darrell Hunter set bail on Dulay at $2 million.

Sources say Cibolo police went to the residence in the 300 block of Saddlehorn Way in Cibolo just after the body was found at 5:25 p.m.

Cibolo police detectives, Texas Ranger Jesse Valdez and 25th Judicial District Attorney Heather Hollub’s investigator, Frank Allenger were called to the home, which appraisal district records show is owned by the Dulays, and worked late into Wednesday night.

Hollub acknowledged Thursday afternoon her office was supporting the Cibolo Police Department in the investigation, but would say little else, referring requests for further information to the CPD.

“It was a man who (allegedly) stabbed his wife, and he’s in custody,” Hollub said. “Frank (Allenger) and Ranger (Jesse) Valdez went out there last night and assisted with processing the scene while Cibolo police took the suspect into custody.”

Little was known about the incident Thursday, and the Seguin Gazette Enterprise was unable in repeated attempts to reach a spokesman for the Cibolo Police Department.

The Dulays relocated here recently from the South Texas town of Alice.

Ma Nova Dulay was a nurse employed in Bexar County.

The Dulays have two children, ages 4 and 13.
