SEGUIN — Guadalupe County will conduct a first public meeting this evening on a study officials hope will identify potential flood control projects on the Geronimo and Alligator creeks.
The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Navarro Independent School District cafeteria located at 380 Link Road. It is expected to last until 8:30 p.m.
Guadalupe County Road and Bridge Director Larry Timmermann said the study, which will run concurrently with a water quality study being conducted in the watershed by Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, will be similar to one previously conducted in the Santa Clara Creek watershed.
Thursday’s meeting will present and hear public comment on preliminary descriptions of possible flood control projects that might reduce major flooding.
Citizens are invited to attend and express their views with Guadalupe County representatives.
Also at the meeting will be representatives of Comal and Guadalupe counties, Seguin and New Braunfels and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
Comments relevant to the study may be mailed to Larry Timmermann, Guadalupe County, 2605 North Guadalupe Street, Seguin, Texas 78155, or sent electronically to larry(at)co.guadalupe.tx.us .
