Leonard E. Rosebrock
Leonard E. Rosebrock passed away early on the Dec. 10, 2009, at the age of 74 years.
Leonard was born in New Braunfels to Valeska (Zuehl) and Erwin Rosebrock in 1935. As an only child he grew up along the Cibolo Creek, enjoying fishing, hunting and swimming with his friends and faithful dog tippy. Leonard attended Clemens School in Zuehl and graduated from Seguin High School in 1953.
He then entered the US Air Force and saw four years of active service as a radio operator. On Aug. 4, 1957, he married Alma Reinhard. To this union were born three sons.
Leonard worked for 20 years as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration until he retired in 1974 and moved back to Zuehl to raise cattle. Leonard always had a joke to share with friends. He was generous with family’s always a good father and took great joy with his four granddaughters. He and Alma enjoyed traveling, bowling and square dancing. He cherished his home in Zuehl and was a life member of the Germania and Bexar Bowling Clubs. Leonard was also a member of the American Legion’s Missing Man Post 667, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), and the U.S.S. General W.A. Mann.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alma; three sons: Mike with wife Terri, Lester, and Kevin; four granddaughters: Jennifer Hyatt with husband Cliff, Patricia Sheffield with husband Anthony, Sarah Rosebrock with fiancé Ryan Kenney, and Rebecca Rosebrook. Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin on Friday, Dec. 11 from 5-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Redeemer United Church of Christ in Zuehl at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, with interment following at Redeemer Cemetery.
