1100 block, East Kingsbury Street and 600 block, East Kingsbury Street
SEGUIN — Police are investigating a pair of burglaries early Sunday in which someone broke into businesses to get to cash registers.
In the first incident, burglars who forced their way into an East Kingsbury Street business escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police say.
Officers responding to a 12:23 a.m. alarm arrived to find someone had broken in through a window to raid a cash register.
The register was damaged when the thief pried its drawer open, according to a police report. The window was also damaged.
The second burglary, in the 600 block of East Kingsbury, was discovered just before 5 a.m.
In that incident, someone gained access through a window to steal the register, which contained cash.
The reports did not say whether police considered the thefts connected.
Investigation into both incidents continues.
1400 block, River Drive West
SEGUIN — A cell phone was discovered taken in an apparent vehicle burglary Friday afternoon.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, a resident of the 1400 block of River Drive West heard his vehicle alarm go off, but reset it when he looked and didn’t see anyone nearby
Later, he discovered that a phone worth about $400 was missing from the vehicle, and reported the theft at about 6:20 p.m.
No sign of forced entry was noted, the report said.
600 block, East Kingsbury Street
SEGUIN — Three vehicles were damaged and property worth nearly $7,000 was reported stolen in vehicle burglaries discovered Friday evening.
According to a Seguin Police Department report officers went to a business located in the 600 block of East Kingsbury Street at 8:15 p.m. after a patron returned to the parking lot to discover someone had broken into her vehicle to take several items worth about $1,370.
Investigation revealed that two vehicles adjacent to the first had also been broken into. The second driver reported nothing was taken. A guitar, video camera and digital camera were missing from that vehicle along with other property.
Damage to the vehicles was estimated at about $850, police reported.
800 block, Campbell Street
SEGUIN — A woman lost a debit card and a Lone Star card worth $90 in a burglary discovered Saturday night, police say.
The victim reported noticing several items in the home had been moved upon return to the Campbell Street residence just after 8 p.m. Saturday.
A check of a purse revealed the missing cards, police said.
Entry was believed made through a rear window.
600 block, Melrose Street
SEGUIN — An iPod was reported stolen in a vehicle burglary off Melrose Street Thursday.
According to a Seguin Police Department report, a resident reported her family’s vehicles were secured at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
When she went to her vehicle at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, she saw the driver’s side window had been smashed, the report said.
A check of a second vehicle revealed that an iPod worth $350 was missing.
The window would cost $300 to repair, the victim estimated.
No damage or other signs of forced entry were noted in the report on the second vehicle.
500 block, North Vaughan Avenue
SEGUIN — A vandal caused $400 worth of damage in a keying incident discovered Friday night.
Police said the vehicle was gouged on the driver’s side from the rear tail light to the front wheel in the incident discovered just before 10:30 p.m.
The cost of repairing the damage was placed at about $400, according to reports.
700 block, Stratton Street
SEGUIN — Someone smashed the rear window out of a vehicle parked at Stratton Oaks Apartments, according to police reports.
A vehicle parked at 4:30 p.m. Thursday was discovered damaged at 10 a.m. Friday.
Cost of repairing the window was not known.
No suspect was listed in the police report.
