Jocelyn Wuest Schultze
Jocelyn Wuest Schultze went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the age of 80 years.
Jocelyn was born on March 5, 1929, in Marion, Texas to Frederick H. Wuest and Elsie Pfannstiel Wuest. She was a member of Emanuel’s Lutheran Church, and was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church on April 18, 1943. Jocelyn graduated from Marion High School in 1946 where she was a cheerleader and played baseball for the Marion Bulldogs. She married the late Allen C. Schultze on Dec. 31, 1946. She spent her life feeding children at the Seguin ISD school cafeterias for more than 25 years. She loved children, animals, horses, donkeys, and raising birds and chickens. Jocelyn was an honorary lifetime member of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse for over 40 years and also was a founding member of the Guadalupe County 4-H Horse Club.
Jocelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Allen C. Schultze; brother, Elton Wuest; and sisters: Vernie Hoffman, Angeline Wenzel, Pearlie Loeffler; and sister-in-law Beatrice Wuest. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Mayes and Floyd Drown; son, Ray Allen Schultze; son, Michael Nelson Schultze and wife Jan; daughter, Christy “Cricket” Schultze Dietert and husband Jim; daughter, Roxan Schultze and Byron Osborne; sister, Vandeline Sahm; grandchildren: David Drown, Brandy Schultze Martinez, Chris Schultze, Chad Schultze, Cole Dietert, Justin Dietert, Samantha Schultze, Hope Schultze; 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, from 5-9 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, and interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
