Lilian Schriewer Elbel
Lilian Schriewer Elbel, 95, of New Braunfels, Texas, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at her home. She was born in New Braunfels, Texas, on Jan. 26, 1914 to Henry Schriewer, Jr. and Emilie (Mattfeld) Schriewer.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Elbel, Sandra Elbel Taylor and John Richard Elbel all of New Braunfels; Son-in-law, James F. Taylor of Katy, Texas; Grandchildren, Natalie and Brandon Taylor; Sister-in-law, Wanda Koch; one niece and one nephew and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Arthur Elbel; brothers, Egon Schriewer, Sr. and Elmor Schriewer
Public visitation will begin noon Sunday at the Zoeller Funeral Home with the family present to receive friends, noon until 3 p.m.. Public visitation will continue until 9 p.m.. A Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m. at Friedens Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Church Choir, Cibolo, TX; Friedens Church Choir, Geronimo, TX; First Protestant Church Choir, New Braunfels, TX; or to Hope Hospice New Braunfels.
