Bonnie Jean Hawk

Bonnie Jean Hawk passed away on Friday, July 31 in San Antonio at the age of 81 years.

She was born on April 6, 1928, in Nixon, Texas to Elmer Ballard and Josephine Gallaway. She was a native of Nixon formerly of Stockdale and a Seguin resident for the past 12 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockdale. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse V. Hawk on May 5, 1991, also preceded by her son Jesse Wayne Hawk on May 1, 1989, and preceded also by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Sharron Hawk of Seguin; and Kathryn Hawk and Ron Bryant of Stockdale; her daughter-in-law, Laura Sue Sweiss of San Antonio; brothers, Donald and wife Ann Ballard of Godly, Texas and Charles and wife Carlyn Ballard of Luling, Texas; grandchildren Michele Hawk, Phillip Mitchell, and Marklyn Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, Whitney Mitchell, Brandyn Hawk; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and the First Baptist Church Stockdale.

Funeral services followed on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Stockdale with the Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Stockdale City Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Daryl Johnson, Wayne Shelton, Barry Osborne, David Frasier, Brian Stahl and Shon Cassidy.
