Local businesses, groups and individuals gave area youth high praise for their Guadalupe County Youth Livestock and Homemakers Show projects at the annual premium auction.

Bidders offered up thousands of dollars to the young agriculture students as a reward for their hard work in raising, making or baking their projects and give them a boost for next year's project or college funding.

Starting off this year's auction was overall Grand Champion Market Steer winner Karlie Schneider earning $15,000.
