Over the weekend, Seguinites went nuts for Pecan Fest, the time of year everyone comes together to celebrate the city’s heritage. At the Big Red Barn on Saturday, a new Pecan Queen was crowned and there was no shortage of fun activities and food the Texas Agriculture Education and Heritage Center’s Heritage Days, as part of this year’s festival.
Children who came out had a opportunity to get their face painted, pet animals in a petting zoo, ride a horse and learn about Seguin and Texas history, among many other activities. Pecan Fest Chair at the Big Red Barn, Jenny Siltmann, said everyone she spoke with was having a great time.
