While doing some research for one of the snapshots I ran across a newspaper article in a copy of the Guadalupe Gazette, “The Official Paper of Guadalupe County,” dated 1908. It was interesting because many of the names mentioned are family names recognized today in Seguin. Perhaps some of you may recognize your ancestors from 113 years ago. The paper advertised, “Local News of utmost importance.”

A card to the Gazette from Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Schultz in Chicago advises that they are “enjoying their honeymoon.”

Floyd McKee is a native of Seguin. He is a retired Air Force Colonel and eight of his ancestors were among the 33 Rangers that organized and developed Walnut Springs and Seguin.
