The makings of a quality point guard are often inherited by the teachings of a good head coach. Both player and coach need to be on the same page and have the same goals in order for the team to see success on the hardwood, and perhaps no team has benefitted more from this relationship than Seguin, which is led by head coach Angela Brittain and her daughter Reese.

The Lady Matadors have a record of 13-9 so far this season and sit fourth in District 26-5A standings, and that success is largely due to not only the improvement from the returning players from last year, but perhaps the biggest improvement within the coach’s own household — her third-year point guard who’s now completely running the show.
